I truly believe this. With all of my heart. I have four of them: Mia, Poppy, Dorothy and Joy. I’ve never met them. They live 2600 miles from me, and although my two sons (their fathers: Jordan & Jesse) make good money and travel all over the world, the northcoast of California is too far away, I guess. I’m 71 (2024) now, and I expect I will never meet them unless I win the Lottery and can afford the trip to Chicago on my own. Social Security, though a wonderful benefit, doesn’t leave much in the way of disposable income.
Left to Right: Mia, Dorothy, Poppy & Joy.
I also have four grandsons: Isaiah, Jalen, Cam, and Ian. I’ve met Isaiah and Jalen, but not the other two. Isaiah and Jalen are my eldest son Joshua’s offspring. Cam and Ian are brothers to Joy (seen above), and their father is Jordan. It’s likely I’ll never meet Cam or Ian either.
Left to Right: Dorothy, Mia, Joy, Poppy, Jalen, Ian & Cam; Circa 2020?
Isaiah (oldest grandson) is married, and so I have a great granddaughter:
Grandson Isaiah and Great Granddaughter Olivia
<sigh> It’s mega doubtful I’ll ever meet Olivia.
